After nearly two years, I am pleased to announce that our neighborhood organization, Friends of Larchmont Inc, is now the new owner of the long vacant Calico Cat, soon to be Calico Cat Cafe, at 2137 Gwynn Oak Avenue in Gwynn Oak!  The addition of a cafe and community gathering space will surely be a welcome transformation for this community, a place to reconnect with neighbors, meet new friends, have some fun or just relax.  We plan to host fun events including live music, open mic nights, trivia and game nights, civic discussion groups, and more. We'll also have a series of community workshops covering all kinds of topics.  Please let us know if you have a topic to share!  If you're in need of office space, we will have a room available for rent on the 2nd floor.  And for those of you in need of a place to hold your community, organization or club meetings, look no further!

Please join us to celebrate this exciting milestone on August 2nd in the parking lot of the Calico Cat Cafe, from 1-4pm.  There will be food, icees, and line dancing!  Tour the site prior to the transformation and watch our progress, or sign up to volunteer and be a part of it!  We have many people to thank in getting us to this point, including you!  Gwynn Oak and our surrounding communities have been enthusiastically supportive of this vision from the start and we thank you all!  More details to follow for the August 2nd celebration!
